Welcome to Purpose Taktsang Travel

Tired of city life, noisy malls and urban sprawl? Escape to the remote alpine beauty of high beautiful peaks and breathtaking sceneries of Bhutan. The unique combination of ancient tradition and scenic splendour of Bhutan will never fail to allure you by enriching your memories and giving you a trip of a lifetime.

Bhutan’s appeal lies in the simplicity of warm and friendly people, rich culture and tradition, exotic landscapes, stunning architecture of Dzongs(fortresses),monasteries and temples.

Nestled in the heart of Himalayas between India and china, Bhutan has remained an enigma to the outside world owing to its self imposed isolation. Despite opening its windows to the outside world by introducing tourism in 1974, Bhutan has retained its distinct identity and culture in an age when identities are in state of flux.
Bhutan as it may seem almost invisible on the world map is one of the top tourist destination in the world.

Business Week rated Bhutan the happiest country in Asia and the eighth happiest country in the world citing a global survey conducted by the University of Leicester in 2006 referenced to as the "World Map of Happiness."

Did you know that The Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan Article 9(2) ensures the state in promoting those conditions which will enable the pursuit of "Gross National Happiness."

Bhutan - The last shangri-la

Bhutan is a unique blend of the old and the new, a country that is slowly opening up to the world in a fine balance with its ancient culture & traditions. This small "Kingdom of Bhutan" is a trekker’s paradise, a final holiday destination for the tourists and a dream come true for the environmentalist. With 72 percent of the country under forest cover, backed by the country's constitution for it's protection, conservation, prevention & preservation.  Bhutan has some of the strictest Environmental Conservation Laws in the World.

According to Constitution of the Kingdom of the Bhutan Article 5 emphasis on environment. It says it is the fundamental duty of every citizen to contribute  to the protection of natural environment, conservation of rich biodiversity and prevention of all forms of ecological degradation including noise, visual & physical pollution through adoption & support of environment friendly practice and policies, and that the government  shall maintain a minimum of 60% of Bhutan's total land under forest cover in perpetuity. It is also strictly illegal to trap or kill any wild animals in Bhutan. Yet again, Article 3 of the constitution ensures Buddhism as the Spiritual Heritage of the Country which protects the principles and values of peace, non-violence, compassion and tolerance, and His Majesty the King is the protector of all religions in Bhutan. This spiritual country is the only Buddhist Country in the World, and therefore is known as the "Last Shangri-la".
